Internet2: Chief Innovation Officer wanted

Internet2is looking for a Chief Innovation Officer (CINO) to join its executive leadership team, and has assembled a panel of higher education and corporate leaders to search for one.

Internet2 operates a high-speed network across the United States over which higher education and research institutions collaborate. The CINO would be tasked with leading new initiatives in areas such as advanced networking infrastructure, cloud computing and identity management.

“The Chief Innovation Officer is one that is becoming increasingly vital for organizations to foster innovation and maximize progress,” said search committee chair, John Kolb, VP for Information Services and Technology and Chief Information Officer at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, in a statement.

Search committee members hail from organizations including Ciena, IBM, Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, the University of Utah and the University of Chicago.
